Former Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Petit has voiced his strong opinion on Arsenal’s potential transfer target, Real Madrid striker Rodrygo Goes. Petit believes that Rodrygo has the potential to become an “absolute superstar” at Arsenal and has urged the club to make a move for the Brazilian forward.

Petit, speaking to Genting Casino, highlighted that Rodrygo has been overshadowed by the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Jr at Real Madrid, and feels that the Brazilian does not get the recognition he deserves. “He has so much quality and I have always said he will be such a great player for them,” Petit said.

Petit drew parallels between Rodrygo and former Arsenal player Sylvain Wiltord, noting that Rodrygo’s versatility and ability to play across the front line would make him a valuable asset for the Gunners. “I really think he would be a star at the Emirates and be an amazing player who can play across all three positions across the front line,” Petit added.

Rodrygo has shown flashes of brilliance at Real Madrid, scoring three goals and providing two assists in 12 games across competitions this season. Despite his contributions, Petit believes that Rodrygo could thrive even more at Arsenal, where he would be given more opportunities to shine.

Petit’s endorsement of Rodrygo comes at a time when Arsenal is in the market for a winger, with previous interest in Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams. However, Petit is convinced that Rodrygo would be a better fit and could elevate Arsenal’s attacking prowess to new heights.
