Declan Rice has disclosed that he has been given a suitable new nickname by his Arsenal teammates.
Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice has recently shared that his teammates have bestowed upon him a new and fitting nickname: “The Horse”. The nickname, initiated by Oleksandr Zinchenko and picked up by Jorginho, reflects Rice’s incredible stamina and relentless running on the pitch.
Since joining Arsenal from West Ham United last summer, Rice has been a standout performer for the Gunners. His ability to cover every blade of grass, combined with his unwavering energy, has earned him admiration from both fans and teammates. “I think it’s because they think I can run all day, that I’m athletic, my ability to go again, my sustainability and availability to the team,” Rice told Sky Sports.

Rice’s contributions have been crucial for Arsenal this season, especially with key players like Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard facing injuries. The 26-year-old midfielder has embraced the nickname and sees it as a positive reflection of his work ethic. “I don’t mind it but I just have to keep it going,” he added.
Rice’s presence and energy will be vital as Arsenal continues to push for a strong finish to the season. The Gunners are currently in the title race and are also competing in the Champions League, making every player’s contribution essential.
