The Gunners squandered a 2-0 lead as Aston Villa fought back to secure a 2-2 draw on Saturday evening, increasing the deficit to Liverpool.
Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice has urged his teammates to maintain belief in their title aspirations, despite losing ground to Liverpool in the Premier League race. Following Arsenal’s 2-2 draw with Aston Villa, Rice emphasized the importance of staying positive and focused on their own performances.
“We have to keep believing,” Rice said. “It’s a tough challenge, but we’re not giving up. We’ve shown that we can compete with the best, and we’ll keep fighting until the end of the season. Every point is crucial, and we’ll give our all to stay in contention.”
Rice’s comments come after Liverpool scored two stoppage-time goals against Brentford to secure a 2-0 victory, extending their lead over Arsenal to six points with a game in hand. Despite the disappointment of dropping two points from a winning position, Rice remains optimistic about Arsenal’s chances.
“We have a strong squad and a great manager in Mikel Arteta,” Rice added. “We’ll regroup, learn from our mistakes, and come back stronger. This is just a temporary setback, and we’re fully committed to pushing for the title.”
Rice also praised the team’s unity and determination, highlighting the support from fans and the coaching staff. “I’m proud of the team, and everyone is proud of each other. We are doing a great job and dominating many teams. Every game we play consistently, we maintain our consistency, and at the end of the day, we will get our results.”
