Bukayo Saka Shares Thierry Henry’s Encouraging message before landmark 200th Arsenal appearance

Saka 200th Arsenal appearance

Bukayo Saka scores on his 200th Arsenal appearance, leading his team past West Ham following an inspiring message from Thierry Henry.

Bukayo Saka marked his 200th Premier League appearance for Arsenal with a goal and a win, but it was a message from club legend Thierry Henry that added extra fire to his performance against West Ham United.

Ahead of Arsenal’s 2-0 victory over West Ham on October 4, 2025, Saka shared that he received a personal message from Thierry Henry on the morning of the match. The message wasn’t just congratulatory—it was a reminder. Henry pointed out that Arsenal had lost their last two home games against West Ham, urging Saka to help reverse that trend.

“Thierry messaged me this morning to remind me we lost the last two games to West Ham at home,” Saka told Sky Sports. “He is always pushing me. I am really happy to have my name with his records.”

Milestone Moments

Saka didn’t disappoint. He converted a second-half penalty—won by Jurriën Timber—to seal the win and become only the second Arsenal player to score on his 200th Premier League appearance, following in Henry’s footsteps. That goal also marked his 100th Premier League goal involvement, making him the seventh youngest player to reach that milestone in England’s top flight.

Manager Mikel Arteta praised Saka’s consistency and growth, saying, “It’s exceptional what he’s doing at his age. He’s super consistent and willing to learn constantly. He finds ways to find goals.”

With captain Martin Ødegaard forced off after 30 minutes due to a knee injury, Saka stepped up to lead the team. Ødegaard’s injury was described by Arteta as “not looking very positive,” casting doubt over his availability in upcoming fixtures.

Saka’s leadership and performance were vital in a match that also saw Declan Rice score against his former club, helping Arsenal climb to the top of the Premier League table.

Saka’s Comeback Season

After an injury-ridden 2024–25 campaign, Saka’s return to form has been a boost for the Gunners. His goal against West Ham was his second in the league this season, and his overall contribution continues to be pivotal in Arsenal’s title push.

Saka’s ambition remains clear. “I’m just going to keep pushing and try and get some team trophies, which is what we have been searching for,” he said post-match. With Henry’s encouragement and his own drive, Saka is not just chasing records—he’s chasing silverware.
