Bukayo Saka shared the excitement of every Arsenal fans during the team’s resounding 7-1 victory against PSV.
Arsenal delivered a stunning performance against PSV Eindhoven, securing a resounding 7-1 victory. The Gunners’ emphatic win not only showcased their attacking prowess but also set a new record as the first away team to score seven goals in a knockout stage match.
Despite being sidelined due to a hamstring injury, Bukayo Saka was very much a part of the action, albeit from afar. The young winger, who has been out of action since December, took to social media to share his excitement and pride in his teammates’ performance. Saka posted a humorous image on Instagram, featuring the famous popcorn-munching meme from Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” music video, capturing the thrilling nature of the match.

The match itself was a masterclass in attacking football. Arsenal’s Jurrien Timber opened the scoring with a towering header, followed by goals from Ethan Nwaneri, Mikel Merino, and Martin Odegaard, who netted twice. Leandro Trossard and Riccardo Calafiori also found the back of the net, completing the rout. PSV managed to pull one back through a penalty by Noah Lang, but it was little more than a consolation as Arsenal continued to dominate.
Saka’s reaction to the match was one of sheer delight. He praised his teammates for their incredible performance and expressed his eagerness to return to the pitch. “Watching the boys tonight was something special. Can’t wait to be back out there with them,” Saka wrote on his Instagram story.
Arsenal’s manager, Mikel Arteta, also lauded the team’s performance, highlighting the contributions of the younger players like Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly. “To be doing what they are doing at 17 and 18 years old shows incredible maturity. They have a lot of courage and are supported by the entire team,” Arteta said in a post-match interview.
With this historic win, Arsenal has all but secured their place in the Champions League quarter-finals, where they will face either Real Madrid or Atletico Madrid As the Gunners look ahead to the next round, the return of key players like Saka will undoubtedly bolster their chances of progressing further in the competition.
