Bukayo Saka humorously claimed that one of his Arsenal teammates cost him his first hat-trick for the club during their 3-0 victory over AS Monaco on Wednesday night. Saka, who scored twice in the match, was on the verge of completing his hat-trick but saw his effort denied by a deflection.

With just two minutes remaining in the match, Saka found himself in the perfect position to score his third goal of the night. However, as he fired his shot towards goal, the ball flicked off Kai Havertz and then Monaco defender Thilo Kehrer before flying into the roof of the net. Havertz claimed the goal, much to Saka’s amusement.

In a post-match interview with TNT Sports, Saka joked, “He [Havertz] got in the way!” Despite the missed opportunity, Saka remained positive and assured Arsenal fans that his maiden hat-trick is just around the corner. “Don’t worry, it’s coming. It’s coming,” he said with a smile.
