Bukayo Saka has again demonstrated why he is one of the brightest talents in the Premier League. The 23-year-old winger not only helped Arsenal win 3-1 over Southampton, but he also made history by surpassing an incredible record previously held by Arsenal legend Robert Pires.

During the match, Saka provided two crucial assists, bringing his total Premier League assists to 42. This achievement surpasses Robert Pires’ tally of 41 assists, which the Frenchman accumulated over 189 appearances. Remarkably, Saka has reached this milestone in just 176 games.

Saka’s journey from Arsenal’s academy to becoming a key player for the first team has been nothing short of spectacular. Known for his versatility, vision, and ability to deliver under pressure, Saka has establish himself as a key in Mikel Arteta’s squad. His performance against Southampton was a testament to his growing influence on the pitch, as he did not only assisted but also scored a goal to ensure Arsenal’s comeback victory.

Robert Pires was a pivotal figure during Arsenal’s Invincibles season in 2003/04, contributing significantly to the team’s success with his creativity and flair. While Saka still has a way to go in terms of major trophies, his current form suggests that he could be on a similar path to greatness. Pires ended his Arsenal career with two Premier League titles and two FA Cups, and Saka will undoubtedly aim to match or even surpass these achievements.

Saka is not only topping the Premier League assists list, but he is also on set to break the single-season assist record held by Thierry Henry and Kevin De Bruyne, both of whom had 20 assists in a single season. If Saka continues at this pace, he could very well set new benchmarks for future generations.

Bukayo Saka’s record-breaking performance against Southampton is a clear indication of his immense talent and potential. As he continues to develop and contribute to Arsenal’s success, Arsenal fans will be eagerly watching to see just how far this young star can go. With his current trajectory, Saka is poised to become one of the Premier League’s all-time greats.
