Benjamin Sesko, one of the most sought-after young forwards in the world, recently turned down a transfer to Arsenal. According to reports from Daily Mail, Sesko was reluctant to join the Gunners because he did not want to be second choice behind Kai Havertz.

Sesko, who has been in fine form for RB Leipzig, was linked with a move to the Premier League last summer. Arsenal, along with Manchester United and Chelsea, showed strong interest in the Slovenian striker. However, Sesko decided to stay in Germany for another season.

The main reason behind Sesko’s decision was Arsenal’s inability to guarantee him a starting position ahead of Havertz. Despite Arsenal’s willingness to pay Sesko’s release clause of £55 million, the club made it clear that he would not be guaranteed to play ahead of the German international.

Sesko expressed his happiness at RB Leipzig, stating that he felt a lot of trust and appreciation from the club. He also mentioned that the overall package at Leipzig, including the team, club, city, and fans, was outstanding for him.

Arsenal remains interested in Sesko and is likely to make another attempt to sign him at the end of the current season. However, they will face competition from Manchester United, who are also keen on securing Sesko’s signature.

Sesko’s decision to stay at Leipzig has proven to be a wise one, as he has continued to perform well, scoring seven goals in 14 games this season. His future remains uncertain, but it is clear that he wants to join a club where he will be the first-choice striker.
