Benjamin Šeško Transfer Update Sparks Arsenal’s Renewed Interest in €70M Striker.
RB Leipzig have reportedly revised the asking price for their young star striker Benjamin Šeško in his latest transfer update, following a stall in negotiations with Arsenal. The Gunners, who are eager to strengthen their attack ahead of the new Premier League season, have yet to submit a formal offer for the Slovenian talent, prompting the Bundesliga side to reconsider their initial valuation.
Initially, Leipzig had placed a hefty price tag of €80–100 million (£68m–£85m) on Šeško. However, with Arsenal hesitating and no other clubs launching official bids, Leipzig are now reportedly willing to accept offers in the region of €70 million (£59.7m) according to Bild. This reduced fee may prove more appealing to Arsenal’s technical team as they juggle Financial Fair Play constraints and other summer priorities.
Despite links to other strikers—including Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyökeres—Šeško remains the preferred target of manager Mikel Arteta. The 21-year-old enjoyed a breakthrough season with 21 goals across all competitions, showcasing his pace, strength, and lethal finishing. Arsenal view him as a long-term answer to their striking dilemma, offering both immediate impact and future potential.
Šeško’s agent, Elvis Bašanović, recently assured media that any decision will be made with Leipzig’s interests in mind. “Even if Benjamin has a desire to move, we won’t pressure the club,” Bašanović explained, stressing that integrity and respect remain central to their transfer approach.
The revised asking price may reignite Arsenal’s pursuit, but with other clubs quietly monitoring the situation, decisive action will be needed. If the North London club want Šeško to spearhead their attack next season accelerate talks before competitors pounce.
