Bayern Munich Eye Arsenal’s Star in Potential £50m Summer Swoop

Bayern Munich are weighing a £50m move for Gabriel Martinelli transfer, with Arsenal open to offers this summer.

Bayern Munich have entered discussions over a potential Gabriel Martinelli transfer, with the German champions identifying Arsenal’s Gabriel Martinelli as a prime target to reinforce their attack this summer. The move comes in the wake of Leroy Sané’s departure to Galatasaray, leaving a void on the flanks that manager Vincent Kompany is eager to fill ahead of the new season.

Martinelli, 23, has been a key figure at Arsenal since his arrival from Ituano in 2019 for just £5 million. With over 225 appearances, 51 goals, and 29 assists to his name, he’s become a fan favorite at the Emirates. However, despite his contributions, Arsenal are believed to be open to offers in excess of £50 million, especially as they aim to trim their wage bill and reshape the squad.

The Gunners’ pursuit of a new winger having shown interest in players like Nico Williams and Rodrygo has cast uncertainty over Martinelli’s future. While the Brazilian has publicly expressed his love for the club, saying “This is my home. I love to be here. I love the club,” the arrival of new competition could limit his game time.

Bayern Munich’s interest comes amid a broader search for wide attacking reinforcements. According to Bild, the German champions are keeping an eye on Liverpool’s Luis Díaz, Cody Gakpo, and Borussia Dortmund’s Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, and Gabriel Martinelli.

With Gabriel Martinelli under contract until 2027 and Arsenal holding an option to extend for another year the North London club are in a strong negotiating position. Whether Bayern are willing to meet the Gunners’ valuation remains to be seen, but this could be one of the summer’s most intriguing transfer sagas.
