Two of Europe’s biggest clubs expressed interest in Oleksandr Zinchenko, but Arsenal received no offers for the Ukrainian player who has lost favour.

Arsenal’s Oleksandr Zinchenko, who has fallen out of favor under manager Mikel Arteta, has attracted interest from two of Europe’s biggest clubs, Borussia Dortmund and Atletico Madrid. Despite this interest, Arsenal has not received any official offers for the Ukrainian defender.

Zinchenko, who joined Arsenal from Manchester City in 2022, has struggled with injuries and competition for his position. He has made just two Premier League starts this season and has been limited to short spells off the substitutes’ bench. His versatility as a full-back and midfielder has made him a valuable asset, but his lack of consistent fitness has seen him slip down the pecking order.

According to Daily Mail, there was some interest from both the German and Spanish giants, Borussia Dortmund and Atletico Madrid, who were keen on a loan deal for the Ukrainian. However, Arsenal preferred to sell Oleksandr Zinchenko on a permanent basis. As a result, neither Dortmund nor Atletico made an official offer.

Zinchenko, who remains under contract with Arsenal until 2026, is expected to be available for transfer this summer, with the Gunners open to entertaining offers for the squad player.

Both Dortmund and Atletico Madrid showed interest in a potential loan deal for Zinchenko, but Arsenal preferred to sell him on a permanent transfer. As a result, no official offers were made, and Zinchenko remains at the Emirates.

The 28-year-old is still highly regarded in the football world, and his technical ability and versatility make him an attractive prospect for many clubs. However, Arsenal’s preference for a permanent transfer and the lack of firm offers have kept Zinchenko at the club for now.

With his contract running until 2026, Zinchenko could still be available for transfer this summer if Arsenal receives an acceptable offer. The Gunners will be looking to strengthen their squad and may consider offers for fringe players like Zinchenko to bring in new talent.
