Arsenal weigh bid for Eberechi as the Gunners explore a lower offer amid Crystal Palace’s firm stance on his £68m release clause.
Arsenal have started early talks with Crystal Palace about signing Eberechi Eze, according to transfer expert Ben Jacobs. The Gunners are interested in the talented midfielder but are trying to avoid paying his full release clause.
Crystal Palace have made it clear: they want £60 million plus £8 million in add-ons—a total of £68 million—if they are to let Eze go. That’s the amount written into his contract, and Palace are standing firm.
Instead of paying the full amount, Arsenal are thinking about offering a lower fee to see if Palace might be flexible. They believe Eze is keen to join them, which could help in negotiations. Reports say personal terms won’t be a problem if the clubs agree on a price.
Eze had a brilliant season in 2024–25, scoring 14 goals and making 12 assists in 45 games. He can play as a central attacking midfielder or on the left wing, which fits well with Mikel Arteta’s plans to strengthen the squad.

Arsenal are expected to make a formal offer soon. Their main focus right now is finishing the signing of striker Viktor Gyökeres, but once that’s done, they’ll turn their attention fully to Eze.
The club sees him as a smart signing who brings Premier League experience without breaking financial rules.
