Napoli’s initial bid of £15million for Arsenal defender Jakub Kiwior has been rejected.

Arsenal has reportedly rejected an opening bid from Napoli for defender Jakub Kiwior ahead of the January transfer window. The Poland international, who joined Arsenal from Serie B side Spezia Calcio in January 2023, has made 50 appearances across all competitions but has struggled to secure regular playing time this season.

Kiwior has been a reliable backup to William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhães, providing cover at both center-back and full-back. However, with just two Premier League starts this season, the 24-year-old has grown increasingly frustrated with his bit-part role.

Italian publication Tuttosport reported that Napoli made an initial bid of €15 million for Kiwior, but Arsenal swiftly rejected the proposal. The Gunners are believed to value Kiwior at around €25 million and are unlikely to consider a permanent sale unless Napoli significantly increases their offer.

Kiwior’s current contract with Arsenal runs until the summer of 2028. Despite the interest from Napoli and other Italian clubs like Juventus and Inter Milan, Kiwior’s agent previously dismissed speculation about an exit, insisting his client remained committed to the club.

Arsenal’s stance on Kiwior’s future remains firm, with the club demanding a higher fee for the versatile defender. The Gunners are keen to retain Kiwior, especially given his recent importance due to injuries to Gabriel and Riccardo Calafiori.
