Following Edu Gaspar’s unexpected departure, Arsenal are seeking to appoint Luis Campos as their new sporting director.
Arsenal are reportedly considering Luis Campos, the current Football Advisor at Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), as their new sporting director, according to Sky Sport. This comes after the unexpected departure of Edu Gaspar, who recently left to join Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis’ footballing conglomerate.
Campos, known for his keen eye for talent and successful track record at clubs like Monaco and Lille, has been instrumental in signing players such as Kylian Mbappé, Bernardo Silva, and Fabinho. His ability to identify and develop young talent has made him a highly sought-after figure in football management.
Arsenal executives are currently in Los Angeles for discussions with the club’s ownership, and Campos is believed to be at the top of their list of potential candidates. The club is keen to find a replacement who can continue Edu’s work and help Arsenal remain competitive in the transfer market.
While Campos’ contract with PSG runs until the summer of 2025, there have been no new developments regarding an extension, making him a viable target for Arsenal. The Gunners are also considering other candidates, including Roberto Olabe from Real Sociedad and Simon Rolfes from Bayer Leverkusen.
