Arsenal scouts have monitored Lukeba closely in recent months. One club representative was spotted watching Leipzig’s 2-2 draw against Borussia Dortmund last month, signalling that Mikel Arteta’s recruitment team are actively tracking the defender.

Lukeba Emerging as One of Europe’s Top Young Centre-Backs

Lukeba joined Leipzig from Olympique Lyonnais in 2023 in a deal worth around €34 million (£29m) and has quickly established himself as a key figure in the German club’s defence.

Now entering his third season at the Red Bull Arena, the Frenchman has already surpassed 70 appearances for Leipzig across all competitions.

His performances during the 2025/26 Bundesliga season have drawn widespread praise. Lukeba has combined strong defensive awareness with excellent composure on the ball — qualities that fit perfectly with Arteta’s tactical system.
