Arsenal have been dealt a huge blow in their preparations for the 2024-25 season as Takehiro Tomiyasu has been ruled out of their pre-season tour. The Gunners will embark on a US trip to prepare for the next season.
The Gunners, still chasing their first Premier League title in over two decades, are set to travel to the US to face Bournemouth, Manchester United, and Liverpool.
Tomiyasu joins fellow defender Kieran Tierney on the absentee list. Both players are dealing with injuries.
Despite the setbacks, Arsenal will travel with a strong 26-man squad, including youth prospects Ethan Nwaneri, and Myles Lewis-Skelly, and new signing Tommy Setford.
However, the squad lacks experience in some key positions. Both first-choice goalkeepers, David Raya and Aaron Ramsdale, are missing due to their Euro 2024 final appearances. Declan Rice and William Saliba, who also reached the Euros later stages, are also absent.
Arsenal will hope to overcome these absences and use the US tour to effectively prepare for the upcoming season.
