Arsenal Suffer Bukayo Saka Injury Blow as Forward Limps Off vs Chelsea

Arsenal played Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in a heated London derby on Sunday, 10 November 2024, and drew 1-1; however, the match was overshadowed by a serious injury blow to Bukayo Saka.

Arsenal took the lead in the 60th minute. Martin Odegaard’s cross found Gabriel Martinelli, who scored with a precise finish at the near post. Chelsea responded strongly, and Pedro Neto scored his first Premier League goal for Chelsea in the 70th minute with a low drive from outside the box.

In a further blow for Arteta,  Saka was forced off the pitch in the 70th minute after a heavy tackle from Chelsea’s Marc Cucurella. The 23-year-old forward limped off the field, visibly in discomfort, and was replaced by Gabriel Jesus.

With the international break approaching, Arteta will have a chance to assess Saka’s fitness and plan for upcoming fixtures. Arsenal’s next match is against Nottingham Forest on November 23, 2024.

The draw leaves both teams with 19 points each, keeping them in the race for a Champions League spot. Arsenal will need to regroup and focus on their upcoming fixtures to maintain their strong start to the season.
