Arsenal Women have officially announced that 18-year-old striker Jessie Gale joins Arsenal women first team, after she signed her first professional contract with the club, marking a major milestone in her blossoming football career.

Jessie joined Arsenal’s academy in January 2024 from Charlton Athletic and quickly made her mark. Over the 2024/25 season, she became a standout performer for the Under-21s, helping the team clinch both the FIFA Youth Cup in Zurich and the PGA League Under-21 Division One title.

During the same season, Gale gained valuable senior experience through a dual-registration agreement with FA Women’s National League side Watford, where she scored seven goals and provided five assists in 21 appearances. Her domestic form earned her a call-up to the England Under-19s in October 2024, and she played a key role in their European Championship qualification campaign, netting three goals and one assist across five matches.

“I’m delighted to sign my first professional contract here at Arsenal,” said Gale. “This is a special club with great history and ambitions for the future, and it’s incredible to be part of that. I’ve had the opportunity to train alongside the first team here as well as gaining experience elsewhere, and now I’m looking forward to continuing to work hard to develop and progress as a player”.

James Honeyman, Head of Player Development, praised Gale’s commitment: “Jessie has given everything to developing not only as a footballer but as a person as well. She takes every opportunity that comes her way and we’re all proud of her journey so far”.

Clare Wheatley, Director of Women’s Football, added: “Jessie has played a key part in our under-21s team and has shown real dedication to developing as a footballer. We look forward to seeing Jessie continue to grow here”.

With pre-season underway, Gale is expected to push for first-team opportunities under head coach Renée Slegers. Arsenal fans will be watching closely as this promising young striker continues her journey in North London.
