Arsenal and Manchester United go head-to-head in the Gyokeres transfer battle, with the Gunners leading the race with a lucrative contract offer.
Arsenal is pulling in the Gyokeres transfer battle, aiming to outmaneuver Manchester United in securing the prolific Sporting CP striker. Reports indicate the Gunners are ready to offer Gyokeres a blockbuster contract, including a lucrative salary package, to convince him to choose the Emirates as his next destination.
The Gunners have identified Gyokeres as their top striker target following the appointment of Andrea Berta as the club’s new sporting director. Arsenal is reportedly ready to pay between €75-80 million to Sporting CP to secure the Swedish forward, a fee that falls below his €100 million release clause. However, negotiations are ongoing, with Sporting expected to demand a significant portion of the transfer fee upfront.
According to Abola, the Gunners are prepared to offer Gyokeres a net salary of €8.3 million (£7 million) per year, equivalent to a gross weekly wage of around £240,000. This would place him among Arsenal’s highest earners, trailing only Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus. The proposed contract is expected to last four to five years, ensuring long-term stability for the Swedish striker.

Manchester United is also in the race to sign Gyokeres, with manager Ruben Amorim—his former coach at Sporting—keen on bringing him to Old Trafford. However, Arsenal’s aggressive financial package could give them the edge in securing his signature.
Gyokeres has been in sensational form, scoring 38 league goals this season and proving himself as one of Europe’s most prolific strikers. His performances have attracted interest from multiple top clubs, but Arsenal is determined to win the battle for his services.
