Chloe Kelly joins Arsenal on a permanent deal after a stellar loan spell, returning to her roots in North London with big ambitions ahead.
Chloe Kelly joins Arsenal Women as they have completed her permanent signing, bringing the England international back to North London after a standout loan spell from Manchester City.
The 27-year-old winger, who began her career in Arsenal’s academy at age 12, returns to the club after her contract with City expired this summer. During her loan stint in the second half of the 2024/25 season, Kelly made 13 appearances, scoring two goals and assisting five, playing a key role in Arsenal’s Champions League triumph over Barcelona.
Kelly expressed her excitement, calling the move a “standout moment” and emphasizing her desire to win more silverware with the club she calls home. “I’ve always said Arsenal supporters are the best, and to have them on my side, singing my name, means so much to me,” she said.
Head coach Renée Slegers praised Kelly’s impact and ambition, while Director of Women’s Football Clare Wheatley highlighted her professionalism and influence during the loan spell. The deal marks Arsenal’s first signing of the summer window, signaling their intent for the upcoming 2025/26 campaign.
Kelly, who famously scored the winning goal in the Euro 2022 final, now boasts 53 England caps and remains a key figure in the national team’s Euro 2025 campaign.
She will continue to wear the No. 18 shirt as she begins this new chapter with the Gunners.
