Arsenal are reportedly interested in Ezequiel Fernandez, the talented 21-year-old defensive midfielder who plays for Boca Juniors has been impressive for both club and country and has caught the attention of several European clubs, including Arsenal and Porto.

According to information from Argentine Diego Monroig on ESPN reported by Bolavip.

The journalist claims Fernández’s entourage have ‘received information’ that the Gunners want to secure his services in the current transfer window, Although the north London club are interested in the 22-year-old, but hasn’t tabled an official bid so far. The Gunners are keen to strengthen their midfield options and view the young Argentine as a long-term asset.

Fernandez’s recent standout performance at the Paris Olympics, where he scored a fantastic goal for Argentina, further sparked Arsenal’s interest.

Arsenal faces competition from other suitors, but the club’s reputation and the attraction of playing in the Premier League could work in their favor.

Al Qadisiya, a Saudi Arabian club, has tabled a bid of $17.5 million (£13.55m/€16.10m) for Fernandez, surpassing his release clause. They’ve also offered Boca Juniors a 10% sell-on clause fee. Despite the financial attractiveness of the Saudi offer, Arsenal remains determined to secure Fernandez’s signature.

Boca Juniors faces a tough decision. While the Saudi offer provides a significant financial windfall, Fernandez’s departure would be a blow to the club. Boca may be tempted to accept the offer, but it’s not an amount that would scare Arsenal away.

Arsenal was previously linked with Fernandez during the January transfer window. Boca Juniors understands that his long-term future likely lies in Europe, but they aim to capitalize on his departure by securing a substantial transfer fee.
