Arsenal has rejected Marseille’s latest bid for striker Eddie Nketiah, despite the French club’s efforts to sign him, the Arsenal youth product is a top target for Marseille, and the two clubs are in talks about a potential transfer.
Marseille submitted a €27 million bid for Nketiah, but the Gunners are unwilling to accept it. While Arsenal is keen on raising funds for other signings, they value Nketiah at a higher price and want up to €35M according to Daily Mail.
Nketiah has reportedly agreed to personal terms with Marseille on a five-year contract. However, the transfer deal is yet to be finalized due to the fee disagreement between the clubs.
The French side is now faced with a decision to either increase their offer or explore alternative options.
Arsenal earlier today confirmed the exit of Emile Smith Rowe to Fulham for £34 million. The Gunners are likely looking for a similar figure for Nketiah, who has 38 goals for the club.
Despite the ongoing negotiations, there’s no breakthrough yet. Arsenal remains firm on their valuation for Eddie Nketiah, and Marseille will need to make a decisive move if they want to land Nketiah.
