According to David Ornstein Arsenal will now push to sign Espanyol Goalkeeper Joan García. This decision comes in the wake of Aaron Ramsdale’s imminent transfer to Southampton, which has left a gap in the Gunners’ goalkeeping department.

With Ramsdale’s departure, Arsenal’s only senior goalkeeper is David Raya, who recently completed a permanent move from Brentford. The club’s sporting director, Edu, and manager, Mikel Arteta, have been proactive in identifying García as the ideal replacement. The 23-year-old Spaniard has impressed with his performances for Espanyol, particularly in the latter half of last season, helping his team secure promotion back to La Liga.

Joan García, a Spain Under-21 international, has been on Arsenal’s radar for some time.
