Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has issued an update on key players’ fitness ahead of Sunday’s Premier League meeting with Liverpool. The Gunners are dealing with several injury concerns, with Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard, Jurrien Timber, and Riccardo Calafiori among those who are currently sidelined.

Bukayo Saka injury update.

Bukayo Saka has been a significant miss for Arsenal after picking up a hamstring injury during England’s international break. Despite initial hopes of a quick recovery, Saka has not been able to train yet, and Arteta has expressed uncertainty about his availability for the Liverpool game. Saka’s absence has already been felt, with Arsenal struggling in recent matches without his attacking prowess.

Martin Odegaard injury update.

Martin Odegaard, Arsenal’s captain, has been out since limping off during a 1-1 draw with Brighton at the end of August. Odegaard will not play against Liverpool, since Mikel Arteta has suggested that he may return after the November international break. His absence will be a big setback to the team’s midfield creativity.

Jurrien Timber Injury update

Jurrien Timber is another key player who could miss out due to a muscle injury he picked up before the international break. Arteta has suggested that Timber is close to returning and might be able to play against Liverpool if he responds well to training.

Riccardo Calafiori injury update

Riccardo Calafiori is the latest addition to Arsenal’s injury list after suffering a knee injury in the Champions League match against Shakhtar Donetsk. Arteta has described the injury as “not great news,” and it seems improbable that Calafiori will be ready for the Liverpool game. This injury adds to the defensive woes for Arsenal, who are already without William Saliba due to suspension and Takehiro Tomiyasu and Kieran Tierney due to long-term injuries.

Arteta remains hopeful but cautious about the chances of Saka and Calafiori making a return. The club is doing everything possible to give their key players every chance to recover in time for the crucial match.

Arsenal fans will be eagerly watching the developments in the coming days, hoping for positive news on the fitness of their star players. The match against Liverpool will be a true test of Arsenal’s depth and resilience, and the return of Saka,Timber, and Calafiori would greatly boost their chances of securing a victory.
