The ex-Sevilla defender, capable of playing both centre-back and right-back, appears to be a suitable candidate for Mikel Arteta’s team, although they might gain more from recruiting a player for the left-hand side.
Arsenal’s primary right-back is Ben White, with Jurrien Timber and Takehiro Tomiyasu also available for that position. In contrast, their left-sided options are less reliable, as Oleksandr Zinchenko has been out of form and Jakub Kiwior is more suited to central back position.
Kounde is undoubtedly a strong option, and Arsenal might benefit from having him as a squad player at centre-back. However, his high cost makes it unlikely he would displace either William Saliba or Gabriel Magalhaes in Arteta’s starting lineup.
Gerard Romero reports via his JijantesFC channel that Arsenal has contacted Barcelona about Kounde, but Barcelona seems reluctant to sell. Therefore, it is uncertain whether this interest will lead to anything substantial.

Nevertheless, some might argue that Barcelona expected more from Kounde, suggesting the possibility of a transfer if a club is willing to meet their asking price for the 25-year-old.
Kounde has previously attracted attention from Premier League clubs, with Chelsea almost securing his transfer during his spell at Sevilla. Instead, Kounde chose to join Barcelona, where he has consistently delivered solid performances for the Catalan club.

However, some critics argue that Barcelona might have anticipated greater contributions from the 25-year-old, hinting at a possible transfer in the future if a club is willing to meet their valuation.
Although Arsenal may not have an immediate need for Kounde, other Premier League teams such as Chelsea, Manchester United, and Liverpool could greatly benefit from his defensive prowess. The upcoming weeks will determine whether Kounde’s future lies in the Premier League or if he will continue with Barcelona.
