The Arsenal duo are on the cusp of a promising return.
Arsenal get a double dose of good news as manager Mikel Arteta provided positive injury updates on William Saliba and Myles Lewis-Skelly. Both players are in contention to feature in the upcoming match against Wolverhampton Wanderers this Saturday.
Saliba, who missed the recent draw with Aston Villa and the win over Dinamo Zagreb due to a hamstring injury, is expected to be available for selection soon. Arteta mentioned that while Saliba might not be ready for this weekend’s game, he is optimistic about his return next week.
Similarly, Lewis-Skelly, who picked up an injury during the 2-2 draw with Aston Villa but managed to complete the match, has been given a clean bill of health following scans. Arteta stated that there is nothing serious with Lewis-Skelly’s injury, and his availability will be determined after a meeting with the medical staff.
The potential returns of Saliba and Lewis-Skelly come as a significant boost for Arsenal, who have been dealing with a number of injuries in their squad. With key players like Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus sidelined for extended periods, the return of these two defenders will provide much-needed reinforcement to the team.
Arteta expressed his optimism about the situation, highlighting the importance of having both players back in contention. “It’s very positive news,” Arteta said. “We’ve missed them for a few weeks, and their return will be a huge boost for the squad.”
