Arsenal Fans Launch Petition Against £50m Signing of Noni Madueke

Arsenal supporters rally against £50m bid for Chelsea’s Noni Madueke, sparking a fan-led transfer rejection that questions the club’s ambition.

The club’s alleged pursuit of Chelsea winger Noni Madueke has angered Arsenal supporters, who have started a petition called #NOTOMADUEKE to stop the £50 million deal and spark a fan-led transfer rejection.

The petition, which has already garnered nearly 3,000 signatures, reflects growing unease among fans who believe the club is regressing in its transfer strategy. The central complaint? Arsenal’s apparent habit of signing players from Chelsea who are no longer wanted by the Blues.

“Arsenal fans do not want our club cleaning out Chelsea’s dustbin,” one supporter wrote. “We need to be upgrading our first team with world-class players, like we were promised”.

Madueke would be the sixth Chelsea player signed under manager Mikel Arteta, following the recent acquisition of goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga. While Madueke was a regular starter last season, contributing seven goals and three assists in the Premier League, many fans argue that his performances don’t justify the hefty price tag.

The petition’s message is clear: Arsenal is on the brink of greatness, and fans want signings that reflect that ambition. While there’s excitement around the potential arrival of Swedish striker Viktor Gyokeres, the Madueke deal has sparked backlash.

“20+ years of unwavering support and this is how we’re repaid? Mediocre signings with zero ambition while rivals strengthen?” another fan lamented.

Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has hinted that Madueke could leave if he’s not happy at the club, saying, “The ones that are not happy, they are free to go”. Arsenal, meanwhile, has reportedly agreed personal terms with the player, but the fan-led petition may force the club to reconsider its approach.

Whether this grassroots movement will influence the final decision remains to be seen, but one thing is certain: Arsenal fans are demanding more than just transfers—they want a vision that matches their loyalty and expectations.
