Newcastle forward Alexander Isak has been on Arsenal’s radar for some time. However, sources close to the club claim that they do not have the necessary funds to secure the services of the star.

Arsenal’s manager, Mikel Arteta, has been vocal about his desire to bolster the team’s attacking options. One name that has consistently been linked with the Gunners is Newcastle United’s prolific striker, Alexander Isak. However, recent reports from Daily Mail suggest that Arsenal may not be able to afford a record fee for the Swedish international this summer.

Arsenal’s recent transfer activities have already stretched their budget. The club spent close to £200 million on players like Declan Rice, Jurrien Timber, and Kai Havertz in the summer of 2023. With these significant investments, the financial resources available for further high-profile signings are limited.

Newcastle United is reportedly demanding a fee upwards of £100 million for Isak. Given the current financial constraints at Arsenal, meeting this asking price would be a significant challenge. Newcastle manager Eddie Howe has also expressed his reluctance to part with his star striker, further complicating Arsenal’s pursuit.

Arteta has built a competitive squad, but the lack of a prolific centre-forward has been a noticeable gap. Isak’s impressive performances, including his recent goal against Arsenal in the Carabao Cup, have only intensified Arteta’s desire to secure the striker. However, without the necessary financial resources, Arteta may need to explore alternative options or get creative with his summer budget.

While Isak remains a top target, Arsenal is also considering other strikers who could fit into Arteta’s system. Players like Viktor Gyokeres have been mentioned as potential alternatives. Although these options may not carry the same prestige as Isak, they could still provide the attacking edge Arsenal needs.
