Mikel Arteta seeks to bolster attacking options ahead of title run-in, with Brighton striker Evans Ferguson emerging as a target.

Evan Ferguson remains a key target for Arsenal as Mikel Arteta plans to enhance his striking options ahead of another title race. The Brighton centre-forward emerged as one of the Premier League’s most promising talents after progressing through the Seagulls’ academy following his move from Irish side Bohemians in 2021.

He debuted for Brighton in the 2021-22 season, scoring six goals in 19 Premier League matches. The following season, he netted the same number of goals in 27 games. This season has been challenging for him, as he only scored once in 14 matches, having been sidelined at the beginning of the campaign due to an ankle injury.

Despite scoring his first goal since last November against Wolverhampton Wanderers in October, many top clubs remain interested in the Irish striker. Arsenal has now joined the race for Ferguson, with plans to kick off their January transfer business by acquiring one of their rivals’ top talents. According to talkSPORT, Arsenal is considering a January move for Brighton & Hove Albion striker Evan Ferguson, aiming to strengthen their attacking options to close the gap on Premier League leaders Liverpool.

However, Arsenal faces stiff competition from several Premier League clubs for Ferguson’s signature. West Ham and Fulham have also expressed interest in the Irishman, who has struggled for game time at Brighton this season. West Ham has even made contact with Brighton regarding a potential loan deal for Ferguson.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is reportedly open to making a move for Ferguson, provided the right circumstances arise. The Gunners are not planning on spending big in January but are keeping an eye on potential opportunities to strengthen their squad. Brighton is yet to make a final decision on Ferguson’s future, with the club’s priority being to get him back to full fitness.

All eyes will be on Arsenal as the January transfer window draws near to see if they can sign Evan Ferguson given the competition from other Premier League teams. Ferguson’s potential move to the Emirates could provide a much-needed boost to Arsenal’s attacking options as they push for a title challenge.
