Arsenal set sights on Jérémy Jacquet as Gunners target the Rennes starlet in push for defensive strength ahead of new season.

Jacquet, who recently signed a contract extension with Rennes until June 2029, enjoyed a breakout season after returning from a loan spell at Clermont Foot.

His performances in the second half of the campaign earned him a regular spot in Rennes’ starting XI and a call-up to France’s U21 squad.

Arsenal are preparing for potential defensive departures, with Jakub Kiwior’s future uncertain amid interest from several clubs.

Jacquet is seen as a long-term project, stylistically similar to William Saliba, offering technical quality and composure on the ball. The club may pursue Jacquet either this summer or in 2026, depending on how the squad evolves.

While no formal bid has been made, Arsenal’s interest signals a proactive approach to squad planning. If Kiwior departs, Jacquet could be brought in immediately.
