Arsenal are on the verge of completing the signing of 18-year-old goalkeeper Tommy Setford from Ajax. The Gunners have reportedly agreed a fee of around £840,000 with the Dutch club, and Setford is set to undergo a medical in north London imminently.
Setford is a highly-rated prospect who has already represented England at the U19 and U20 levels. He will sign a four-year contract with Arsenal, bolstering their goalkeeping options for the future.
This signing follows the arrival of another young goalkeeper, Lucas Nygaard, from FC Nordsjaelland last month. The signings suggest that manager Mikel Arteta, along with goalkeeping coach Inaki Cana, are actively revamping Arsenal’s goalkeeping department.
