Arsenal latest Champions League victory strengthens their perfect European run as Madueke and Martinelli shine in Belgium.
Arsenal continued their flawless European charge with another convincing Champions League victory, as Mikel Arteta’s side delivered a superb 3–0 performance away to Club Brugge. The Gunners kept their momentum rolling with a dominant display, extending their league-phase run to six wins from six and tightening their grip on top spot in the group.
Mikel Arteta rotated heavily in Belgium, yet Arsenal’s fluency remained untouched. Noni Madueke, one of the night’s standout performers, opened the scoring with a sensational solo strike in the 24th minute. After picking up the ball inside Brugge’s half, he powered past multiple challenges before smashing a left-footed rocket into the top corner.
Seconds after the restart, Madueke struck again. Martin Zubimendi whipped a precise ball across the box, allowing the England winger to head into an empty net and put Arsenal firmly in control.
Martinelli Makes History With Brilliant Finish
Gabriel Martinelli added Arsenal’s third in style. Cutting in from the left, the Brazilian curled a stunning effort into the far top corner to seal the victory. The goal made him the first Arsenal player ever to score in five straight Champions League matches, cementing his status as one of Arteta’s most decisive attackers.
Despite the scoreline, Club Brugge produced several dangerous moments. Myles Lewis-Skelly saw an effort deflect onto the post, while Viktor Gyokeres narrowly headed wide.
David Raya responded with a series of composed saves, denying Carlos Forbs, Christos Tzolis, and Aleksandar Stankovic to preserve Arsenal’s clean sheet.
Arsenal nearly added a fourth late on when Gabriel Jesus—returning after 332 days out with an ACL injury—hit the crossbar and forced another strong save from the Brugge goalkeeper.
A Special Moment for 16-Year-Old Marli Salmon
One of the night’s biggest highlights came in the 82nd minute as academy defender Marli Salmon made his senior debut, replacing Ben White. The 16-year-old became the fourth-youngest player in Arsenal’s history, marking another proud moment for Hale End.
