Bukayo Saka injury status ahead of Liverpool clash confirmed as Arsenal star faces up to four weeks out, missing key fixtures including England qualifiers.
Arsenal have suffered a major setback as Bukayo Saka is set to miss the Liverpool clash after picking up a hamstring injury. The England international could be sidelined for up to four weeks, dealing a huge blow to Mikel Artetaβs plans.
The 23-year-old winger was forced off during Arsenalβs 5β0 win over Leeds United after feeling discomfort in his hamstring. Early scans revealed the injury was to his opposite hamstring from the one that sidelined him last season, meaning it is not linked to his previous issue.
Despite that positive note, Sakaβs recovery is expected to rule him out of the Premier League showdown against Liverpool on August 31.
How Long Will Bukayo Saka Be Out?
According to report from The Sun, Saka will be out for around four weeks. That means he will also miss Englandβs World Cup qualifiers against Andorra and Serbia in early September.
If his recovery takes the full duration, he could also be absent for:
Nottingham Forest (September 13), Arsenal’s Champions League opener, and possibly Manchester City (September 21).
However, Arsenalβs medical team remain hopeful he could return before the end of September if progress is swift.
Arsenalβs Options Without Saka
With Bukayo Saka injured ahead of the Liverpool clash, Mikel Arteta will rely on his summer signings and attacking depth. New arrivals Eberechi Eze, Noni Madueke, and Viktor GyΓΆkeres are all candidates to step up.
Youngsters Ethan Nwaneri and Max Dowman may also feature, while proven stars Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli offer attacking flexibility.
Unlike last seasonβs hamstring tear that kept him out for three months, this setback is considered less serious. Arteta confirmed it is a fresh issue and not a recurrence, meaning Saka should make a full return soon.
The Bukayo Saka injury before the Liverpool clash is a major blow for Arsenal, but the Gunnersβ squad depth gives Arteta several options in attack. If recovery goes to plan, fans could see Saka back on the pitch by late September.
