Mikel Arteta expresses his deep affection for being Arsenal’s head coach and is confident that he will still be in management, preparing for a Boxing Day fixture, in a decade.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta recently opened up about his long-term vision and where he sees himself in ten years in an interview with Sky Sports. At 42 years old, Arteta humorously noted that he would be 52 in a decade and expressed his belief that he would still be involved in football management.
Arteta, who has been at the helm of Arsenal since December 2019, has overseen significant progress at the club, including leading them to FA Cup and Carabao Cup victories. Despite the challenges and pressures of the job, Arteta’s passion for football remains undimmed.
“I love what I do. It’s my choice at the end of the day to decide my profession and I decide to do this because I absolutely love it. It’s got its things, yes, but for me, the positives are far bigger.”
Arteta emphasized that his energy and enthusiasm for the job are key factors in his decision to continue. He also highlighted the importance of staying focused on the present while planning for the future.
While Arteta didn’t rule out the possibility of managing another club, he made it clear that his current focus is on making Arsenal one of the best clubs in the world. His dedication to the club and its success is evident in his commitment to achieving major trophies consistently.
