According to The Athletics, Arsenal and Nottingham Forest are edging closer to an agreement for the transfer of Eddie Nketiah. The initial bid of £25 million from Nottingham Forest was rejected by Arsenal, who are holding out for a fee closer to £30-£35 million.

Talks between the two clubs are ongoing, with Nottingham Forest keen to bolster their attacking line. Nketiah would provide an extra option for Forest head coach Nuno Espirito Santo alongside existing attackers Chris Wood and Taiwo Awoniyi.

Nketiah, who has found first-team opportunities limited at Arsenal, is eager for more regular playing time, which a move to Forest could offer him.

Eddie Nketiah, 25, has been a part of Arsenal’s setup since his youth days but has struggled to cement a regular starting spot in recent seasons. Last season, he made 37 appearances, scoring six goals.

Nottingham Forest, who have shown strong interest in Nketiah, are looking to make a statement with this signing. They believe that Nketiah’s pace, finishing ability, and Premier League experience will be invaluable as they aim to improve their standing in the league.

While personal terms are yet to be finalized, Nketiah’s wage demands could be a sticking point. He currently earns £120,000 a week at Arsenal, and it remains to be seen if Forest can match or come close to these terms. Other clubs, including Crystal Palace and Bournemouth, have also shown interest in the England international, but Forest appears to be leading the race.
