While RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Šeško was previously in contention, Arsenal have now shifted their full focus to Gyökeres. Transfer expert Sacha Tavolieri confirmed that a five-year contract has already been agreed, with negotiations now centered on reaching a final agreement with Sporting.

Gyökeres, 27, is coming off a sensational season in which he scored 54 goals across all competitions. His explosive form has made him one of the most sought-after strikers in Europe, and Arsenal’s swift move to secure personal terms demonstrates their intent to finally solve their long-standing No.9 dilemma.

The agreement comes as a blow to Manchester United, who had also been monitoring the striker closely. However, Gyökeres is said to favor a move to the Emirates, where he would be a central figure in Mikel Arteta’s plans to challenge for the Premier League title.

With Benjamin Šeško now reportedly out of the picture, Arsenal’s focus has shifted entirely to completing the Gyökeres deal. The club is also targeting reinforcements in midfield and defense, but landing a marquee striker remains the top priority.
