Arsenal secured a crucial 2-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur in the North London derby, moving up to second place in the Premier League.
Tottenham initially took the lead through Heung-Min Son, who scored with a deflected shot past Arsenal’s goalkeeper David Raya following a corner. This early goal surprised the home crowd, who had seen Arsenal dominate the initial play.
Nevertheless, Arsenal quickly fought back. Just before halftime, a contentious corner kick resulted in a goal for the Gunners. Declan Rice’s cross found Gabriel, whose header deflected off Dominic Solanke and into the net. Four minutes later, Leandro Trossard found the net from a tight angle, giving Arsenal the lead just before the break.
