Newcastle United defeated Arsenal 1-0 at St. James’ Park on Saturday, November 2, 2024. The decisive moment came early in the match when Alexander Isak headed in a cross from Anthony Gordon in the 12th minute. This goal proved to be enough for Newcastle to claim all three points.

Arsenal struggled to break down Newcastle’s defense throughout the match. Despite dominating possession with 64% of the ball, Arsenal managed only one shot on target out of eleven attempts. Newcastle, on the other hand, capitalized on their limited opportunities, with Isak’s goal being the only shot on target they needed.

Newcastle’s defense held firm in the second half, with goalkeeper Nick Pope making crucial saves to deny Arsenal. The Gunners’ frustration was evident as they failed to convert their numerous set-pieces and attacks into goals

This defeat means Arsenal has now lost two consecutive away games in the Premier League for the first time since May 2022. Newcastle, on the other hand, moves up to eighth place in the table, just three points behind Arsenal.
