Arsenal missed the opportunity to close the gap with Premier League leaders Liverpool to four points as they were held to a goalless draw by Everton at the Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal were held to a frustrating goalless draw by a resilient Everton side at the Emirates Stadium. Despite dominating possession and creating numerous chances, the Gunners were unable to find a way past an inspired Jordan Pickford.
The match started with Everton showing early intent, as Abdoulaye Doucoure’s effort was blocked by Gabriel in the opening minutes. Arsenal quickly took control, with Martin Odegaard coming close on several occasions. His best chance in the first half came from a well-worked move involving Kai Havertz and Bukayo Saka, but Pickford was equal to the task, making a crucial save.
Arsenal continued to press in the second half, with Saka’s volley forcing another excellent save from Pickford. The Gunners’ frustration grew as they struggled to break down Everton’s organized defense. Mikel Arteta made several changes, bringing on Ethan Nwaneri, Jorginho, Gabriel Jesus, Thomas Partey, and Leandro Trossard to add fresh legs and attacking options.
Despite the changes, Arsenal could not find the breakthrough. Pickford remained unbeatable, making key saves to deny Saka and Gabriel Martinelli. The match ended in a stalemate, with Arsenal missing the opportunity to close the gap on Liverpool at the top of the Premier League table.
