Arsenal will struggle to win the Premier League without signing an ‘out-and-out goalscorer’ to replace Kai Havertz.
Former Rangers star and football pundit Ally McCoist has made a bold claim that Arsenal cannot win the Premier League until they replace striker Kai Havertz. McCoist’s comments come in the wake of Arsenal’s recent FA Cup exit to Manchester United, where Havertz missed the decisive penalty.
McCoist praised Havertz’s overall abilities but pointed out that the German forward is not a clinical goalscorer. He emphasized that Arsenal needs an “out-and-out goalscorer” to challenge for the Premier League title. According to McCoist, Havertz’s lack of consistency in front of goal is a significant hindrance to Arsenal’s title aspirations.
Despite being Arsenal’s top scorer this season with 12 goals, Havertz has faced criticism for his performance in crucial moments. His missed penalty in the FA Cup match against Manchester United highlighted his struggles under pressure.
McCoist suggested that Arsenal should look for a striker who can consistently score 25-30 goals a season. He compared Arsenal’s situation to that of Manchester City and Liverpool, who have prolific goal scorers like Erling Haaland and Mohamed Salah.
Arsenal has been linked with several strikers, including Alexander Isak from Newcastle United and Jonathan David from Lille. McCoist believes that signing a player of Isak’s caliber could make a significant difference for Arsenal.
