Thomas Partey is attracting interest from three European heavyweights ahead of a potential free transfer move this summer.

Thomas Partey is on the verge of leaving Arsenal in a move that could drastically change the club’s midfield. The Ghanaian midfielder, who joined Arsenal from Atletico Madrid in 2020 for a reported fee of £45 million, is set to become a free agent this summer as his contract nears its end.

Despite Partey’s impressive performances this season, Arsenal has yet to offer him a contract extension. Reports suggest that the club would be open to retaining Partey if he agrees to a pay cut, but no concrete talks have taken place. This uncertainty has attracted the attention of several European giants, including Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, and Juventus, who are keen to secure the services of the experienced midfielder on a free transfer.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is already planning for a future without Partey. The Gunners are reportedly close to signing Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi, a player whose profile is seen as an upgrade on Partey. Additionally, Arsenal is also linked with German international Joshua Kimmich, who could bring valuable experience to the midfield. With these potential signings, it appears that Partey and fellow midfielder Jorginho, whose contract also expires this summer, are set to leave the club.

During his nearly five-year spell at Arsenal, Partey has made 154 appearances across all competitions, scoring eight goals and providing five assists. His versatility has been a valuable asset for the Gunners, with Arteta deploying him in multiple roles, including right-back. Despite his contributions, Partey’s future at Arsenal remains uncertain, and a return to Spain, particularly to Barcelona, seems to be his preferred destination.
