Guehi’s admiration for Jesus stems from their encounter in August 2022, during Jesus’ first competitive game for Arsenal after his transfer from Manchester City. Despite not scoring in that match, Jesus’ performance left a lasting impression on Guehi. The Brazilian forward completed six dribbles and played a crucial role in Arsenal’s 2-0 victory over Crystal Palace.

Reflecting on that match, Guehi said, “That first half was the toughest half I have ever had. He was amazing in that half, just for that reason, I would say Jesus.” This statement highlights the impact Jesus had on the game and the challenge he posed to Guehi.

Jesus’ impressive performances against Crystal Palace have been a recurring theme. In the seven matches Guehi and Jesus have faced off, the Brazilian has won six times and lost only once, scoring six goals in the process. This track record further cements Jesus’ reputation as a formidable opponent for the Eagles.

Despite his current season-ending ACL injury, Jesus’ impact on the pitch remains undeniable. His ability to challenge and outmaneuver defenders like Guehi and Lacroix showcases his exceptional talent and cements his place as one of the Premier League’s top forwards.
