Arsenal have secured a deal for a highly-rated teenage defender ahead of the summer.
Arsenal have reached an agreement to sign promising Scottish defender Callan Hamill from St Johnstone. The deal, worth a six-figure fee plus potential add-ons, will see the 15-year-old officially join the club on July 1.
Hamill, who has been turning heads with his performances, is known for his versatility, being able to play both as a centre-back and a right-back. His composure on the ball and impressive ability to carry it past the first line of press have made him a standout prospect.
Despite interest from other top clubs, including Rangers and Celtic, Hamill has chosen Arsenal, where he has trained with the youth teams on multiple occasions. The Gunners are excited about his potential and believe he can be a valuable addition to their academy.
Arsenal’s head coach Mikel Arteta has been keen on bolstering the club’s youth ranks, especially after losing some promising talents to Premier League rivals. The signing of Hamill is seen as a significant step in that direction.
Jordan Campbell of The Athletic reported that Hamill turned down offers from other clubs to join Arsenal, highlighting the club’s appeal and the young player’s ambition.
