Kai Havertz sustained a hamstring injury during the club’s training camp in Dubai. The Gunners are without a fit striker, as Gabriel Jesus is also currently injured.
Arsenal had high hopes of returning from Dubai with a refreshed squad, ready to build momentum in their title charge. However, things have not gone as planned for Mikel Arteta, as his team suffered a significant setback with Kai Havertz being ruled out for the season after requiring surgery on a hamstring injury sustained in Dubai.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta recently shed light on the unusual incident that led to Kai Havertz’s season-ending hamstring injury during the club’s winter training camp in Dubai. Arteta revealed that Havertz was attempting to block a shot during a set-piece when he stretched his leg and felt a sudden pain in his hamstring.
Arteta described the incident as “very unexpected” and a “big blow” for the team, especially given the already challenging injury situation with Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli also sidelined. The Arsenal manager emphasized the need for the squad to remain resilient and adapt to the circumstances.

With Havertz out for the rest of the season, Arteta is exploring creative alternatives to maintain the team’s attacking threat. Options include using Leandro Trossard as a false nine or considering Mikel Merino as an emergency striker.
Despite the setback, Arteta remains optimistic and is focused on finding solutions to keep the team competitive in the title race.
