Arsenal winger Gabriel Martinelli is set to miss over a month of action due to a hamstring injury he suffered during the Carabao Cup defeat to Newcastle on Wednesday.
Arsenal has been dealt another significant injury blow as Gabriel Martinelli is set to be sidelined for over a month with a hamstring injury. The Brazilian forward was forced off during Arsenal’s Carabao Cup semi-final second leg defeat against Newcastle United on Wednesday, February 6.
Martinelli’s injury comes at a particularly challenging time for the Gunners, who are already without key players such as Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus. The 23-year-old winger’s absence will be felt keenly as Arsenal navigates a crucial period in their season, with important fixtures against Leicester City, West Ham, and Nottingham Forest on the horizon.

Mikel Arteta, Arsenal’s manager, expressed his frustration over the injury, stating, “It’s a tough blow for us. Gabriel has been in great form, and his energy and creativity will be missed. We’ll need to be flexible and make sure the players who are fit step up.”
The club’s failure to secure any attacking reinforcements during the January transfer window has only compounded their problems. With Martinelli out, the burden will fall on the likes of Kai Havertz, Leandro Trossard, and Raheem Sterling to lead the attack.
Arsenal fans have taken to social media to voice their frustration, with many calling for the club to address their lack of depth in the forward line. The timing of Martinelli’s injury is particularly unfortunate, as it comes just as the team was preparing for a warm-weather training camp in Dubai.
