Robbie Fowler thinks Arsenal needs a more prolific striker than Kai Havertz to have any real aspirations of winning the Premier League.
Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler has voiced his opinion that Arsenal needs to improve their attacking options if they are to win the Premier League title. Speaking on The LineUp podcast brought to you by BetMGM, Fowler stated that while Kai Havertz has done a decent job, he is not the consistent goal-scorer needed for a title-winning team.
Fowler, who now works as a football pundit, emphasized that Arsenal’s aspirations of lifting the Premier League trophy require a more reliable and prolific striker. “If I’m being honest, he’s not my cup of tea,” Fowler said. “I think he’s OK but, if you’re a team that’s got real aspirations of winning Premier Leagues and Champions Leagues, then I think you need someone better than Kai Havertz playing in that focal striker role.”

Havertz, who joined Arsenal from Chelsea in a £65 million deal in 2023, has scored 29 goals in 85 appearances for the Gunners. However, Fowler believes that Arsenal needs to look for a more consistent and impactful striker to challenge for the title.
Fowler also criticized Arsenal’s lack of activity in the January transfer window, noting that the club failed to bring in a new attacker despite the long-term injuries to Gabriel Jesus and Bukayo Saka. “He’ll do a job but I don’t think he’s been as consistent as he would have liked. I just think there are better players out there.”
