Marseille has stepped up their efforts to sign Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah and have submitted an improved proposal for the Arsenal forward, indicating their intent to bolster their attacking options with a significant investment.
According to The Athletic, the French giants’ new proposal is close to €20 million (£16.8 million), similar to their previous attempt, but the payment structure aligns with Arsenal’s demand. Despite the improved bid, the Gunners will likely consider Marseille’s offer to be significantly below their asking price for the 25-year-old striker. Negotiations will continue with Arsenal aiming for the best possible deal for a player who has already proven himself in the Premier League.
Nketiah is reportedly keen on a move to the Ligue 1 side and has already agreed personal terms on a five-year contract.
Nketiah’s potential transfer to Marseille has sparked mixed reactions while his departure could impact Arsenal’s attacking depth, signing a prolific striker is a primary objective for Arsenal this summer but they need to offload Nketiah to create space for a new signing.
The Gunners have been linked with a number of high-profile names, including Napoli’s Victor Osimhen and Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyokeres, but there hasn’t been any concrete movement on that front.
