Arsenal secured three points away from home with a thrilling 4-3 victory over Manchester City in the Women’s Super League (WSL)
Arsenal defeated Manchester City 4-3 in an exciting Barclays Women’s Super League match at Joie Stadium on Sunday. The match was a true rollercoaster, with both teams showcasing their attacking prowess and resilience.
Arsenal started the game with a bang, as Mariona Caldentey scored within the first minute, capitalizing on a defensive error. Lotte Wubben-Moy doubled the lead with a powerful header from a Kyra Cooney-Cross free-kick just eight minutes later.

The game continued to be a nail-biter, with Frida Maanum restoring Arsenal’s lead just a minute later. Fowler then completed her brace from the penalty spot to level the score at 3-3, making it three goals in ten minutes.
In the 79th minute, Beth Mead delivered a pinpoint cross that Stina Blackstenius tapped in to give Arsenal the lead once again. Despite City’s relentless efforts, Arsenal held on to secure the win and move above City in the WSL standings.
The victory was a testament to Arsenal’s resilience and determination, as they managed to come out on top in a thrilling encounter. The Gunners now sit second in the league, two points ahead of Manchester City, with both teams set to meet again in the League Cup semi-final on Thursday.
