Arsenal progressed to the Champions League last 16 on Wednesday night, following a 2-1 comeback victory over Girona.

Arsenal secured a dramatic 2-1 victory over Girona on January 29, 2025, to advance to the round of 16 in the Champions League.

Here are the player ratings for the Gunners:

Goalkeeper

Neto- 5/10: Neto had a shaky performance, getting caught on the ball outside his box and making an odd decision to come out for Arnaut Danjuma’s opener. He improved in the second half but overall had a poor performance.

Defenders

Thomas Partey – 7.2/10: Partey had a mixed performance. He allowed Danjuma to break in behind for Girona’s goal, but made amends with a strong run to win a penalty for Arsenal. He was substituted at halftime.

Jakub Kiwior – 6.9/10: Kiwior played well on defense and appeared to be in good shape. Despite some excellent defensive plays, he was caught lingering on the ball in a hazardous area.

Gabriel Magalhaes – 6.5/10: Gabriel was consistent in the back, making three clearances, one block, and one interception. He was not as dominant as usual from set pieces.

Riccardo Calafiori – 8/10: Calafiori had an excellent game. He was strong defensively, battling well with Girona’s right side.

Midfielders

Martin Odegaard (c)- 7.5/10: Odegaard played three key passes and made one interception. He was a key figure in midfield, helping to control the game.

Jorginho – 7.8/10: Jorginho scored a simple goal from the penalty spot and played one key pass. He was instrumental in Arsenal’s comeback.

Mikel Merino – 7.6/10: Merino passed the ball with 88% accuracy, including two key passes. He won seven duels, made four tackles, and one block.

Forwards

Ethan Nwaneri – 7.7/10: Nwaneri scored a great curling goal in the first half and played two accurate crosses. He was a standout performer for Arsenal.

Leandro Trossard – 7.9/10: Trossard had a good game, playing three key passes, including an assist for Nwaneri’s goal.

Raheem Sterling – 6.9/10: Sterling had a decent game but ended poorly with his penalty miss.

Substitutes

Jurrien Timber – 6.9/10: Timber replaced Partey at half-time and provided a solid defensive performance.

Myles Lewis-Skelly – 6.6/10: Lewis-Skelly came on for Calafiori and put in a decent cameo.

Kai Havertz – 6.4/10: Havertz replaced Trossard and had a quiet game.

Declan Rice – 6.2/10: Rice came on for Jorginho and provided some defensive stability[.

Gabriel Martinelli – 6.1/10: Martinelli replaced Nwaneri and had a brief appearance.
