The Gunners overcame the setback of a red card to deliver a hard-fought narrow win.

Arsenal secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux on Saturday, January 25, 2025. The match was marked by controversy, with both teams reduced to ten men, but it was Riccardo Calafiori’s second-half goal that ultimately decided the game.

Here’s our player ratings.

David Raya (GK): 8/10
Raya had a commanding performance, making four crucial saves to keep Wolves at bay and securing a clean sheet.

Jurrien Timber (DF): 7/10
Timber made important blocks early on and should have been awarded a penalty after a shirt pull from Matt Doherty. He was booked for his efforts.

William Saliba (DF): 7/10
Saliba had a fortunate escape when Pablo Sarabia fired over, but he held firm when Arsenal were down to ten men, keeping Hwang Hee-chan in check.

Gabriel Magalhaes (DF): 7/10
Magalhaes was relatively untroubled in the first half and made a key pass through to Rice, although the chance came to nothing. He stood tall when needed at the back.

Myles Lewis-Skelly (DF): 6/10
Lewis-Skelly was sent off in the 43rd minute for a high challenge on Andre, which was deemed serious foul play by VAR.

Thomas Partey (MF): 6/10
Partey had a quiet first half as Arsenal dominated the ball, but he didn’t impose himself against Wolves’ midfielders.

Declan Rice (MF): 7/10
Rice led the team like a captain in the absence of Martin Odegaard, making surging runs through the midfield and contributing defensively.

Ethan Nwaneri (MF): 5/10
Nwaneri was tasked with being the main creator in the side after coming back from injury, but the task proved too much for him, and he was sacrificed at halftime.

Gabriel Martinelli (FW): 6/10
Martinelli looked lively playing further inside than usual from the right flank, but struggled to provide a genuine goal threat.

Leandro Trossard (FW): 6/10
Trossard swung in an inch-perfect delivery for Havertz on his least preferred foot and deserved an assist. He found it difficult to impact the game after that.

Kai Havertz (FW): 4/10
Havertz missed three big chances in the penalty box, failing to find the target with three point-blank headers.

SUBSTITUE

Riccardo Calafiori (DF): 8/10
Calafiori came on as a substitute and scored the decisive goal in the 74th minute. His well-placed shot secured the win for Arsenal, and his overall performance was solid.
